Woodland All Hallows’ Eve Canvas Tote Bag

A beautifully sturdy heavyweight 270gsm cotton canvas tote, chosen for its premium, substantial feel. Much thicker and more structured than a standard lightweight tote bag, it’s designed to be used again and again while still feeling special enough to gift.

Measuring approximately 39 × 42 × 13 cm with gusseted sides, a generous 20-litre capacity and 58 cm handles, it has plenty of room for shopping, books, market finds and everyday essentials, and sits comfortably over the shoulder.

Each bag is made to order in my little village studio, helping to reduce unnecessary stock and waste. Because every one is individually made, there may be slight variations in placement and finish- part of the charm of something produced on a small scale rather than mass made.

The design features my hand-drawn Woodland All Hallows’ Eve pattern, filled with British woodland animals dressed for a night of autumn mischief. Brock the badger has squeezed himself into a pumpkin, the fox embraces his old reputation as the clever trickster, the white rabbit brings a little traditional good-luck superstition, the witchy hedgehog nods to the wonderfully strange beliefs once attached to hedgehogs, and the masked squirrel appears to be making off with the treats.

Pumpkin baskets filled with autumn treasures are scattered between them, creating a playful pattern inspired by British wildlife, old country names, superstition and the strange little stories passed down through generations.

A thick, roomy and reusable canvas bag for folklore lovers, woodland wanderers and anyone who thinks a trip to the shops is better accompanied by a pumpkin-clad badger.
